 The foundation for Cook-Richmond Funeral Home, Inc. was started in Bogalusa, Louisiana in 1918 by R.C. Cook to provide funeral services to the population of African-American families in the area. In 1953, Mr.Cook returned to Jackson, Mississippi, and sold the business to its current owner, Moses L. Richmond.


After purchasing the business, it was decided to keep the name "Cook" as the founder. The funeral home then became known as it is today; Cook-Richmond Funeral Home, Inc. As President and General Manager of Cook-Richmond Funeral Home, Roscoe N.Richmond, is a second generation Funeral Director. 


His son, Jamal R. Richmond Vice-President and Asst. Manager is a third-generation Funeral Director. Moses  L. Richmond, father, and grandfather is the Chairman of the Board. Cook-Richmond Funeral Home is a Louisiana corporation, owned by the Richmond family.


Our mission is to provide courteous and professional services that meet the needs and concerns of our clients in a comfortable setting during their time of bereavement, "Because We Care About You."
