Our beloved Walter   Kagler 70, of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born November 09, 1955 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Elmo and Lillie Mae Kagler.

Walter grew up in Franklinton, Louisiana where he developed many talents and interests, but took a special interest in construction where he began a career that lasted over 40 years. He also had a love and passion for the automotive industry and was a trusted mechanic to many. Walter loved being active particularly finding projects to take on around his house, watching football, listening to music, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Rose Jenkins Kagler, children Nigunda Kagler-Kimbrough, Nidea Kagler-McPherson(Matt), and Nijua Kagler, Grandchildren Kyah Antoine, Alijah, Anyah, Braylen,Marcelido, Mackenezie, Amari, Maverick, Zion and Amir. Siblings Jimie (Vernell), Antoinette, Betty Ann (Curtis), Lynnell, Purnell (Barbara), Prentiss, Sedrick (Hollis) and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Lillie Mae Kagler, and siblings Willie Earl, Bertha Mae, Edward James, John, and Elmo Jr.

Walter will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and community.
