MRS. VIRGINIA R. SMITH
Mrs. Virginia R. Smith, age 76, of Bogalusa, LA and former resident of Vicksburg, MS was born to the late Ms. Ella Hall on March 8, 1939, and humbly gave a silent sign and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2016.
She graduated from Central Memorial High School of Bogalusa Class of 1958. She also graduated from Sullivan Vocational technical college, with a degree in Accounting and Marketing. She worked for more than 25 years as a cashier. Many will remember her as always having a kind word, caring heart, and would give her last to help anybody.
Mrs. Virginia became A MEMBER OF THE Mt. Carmel Baptist church in 1970, under the leadership of the Rev. tom Bailey, Jr. she was a very active member of the church, a Sunday School member, a member of the Pastor Aide Club, Senior choir, Mission and she often attend Vacation Bible School.
Outside of church, Mrs. Virginia was a member of the AARP organization.
Mrs. Virginia leaves to cherish her memories two sons: William Smith and Glen Smith, both of Bogalusa, LA; one daughter, Sandra Mitchell also of Bogalusa; eight (8) grandchildren, six (6) great grandchildren, one brother, six (6) sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved one.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Smith, two (2) sons: Craig Mitchell and Daryl Smith, her mother, Ms. Ella Hall, one brother and six (6) sisters.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, at 1104 Poplas Street, Bogalusa, LA at 11:00 am with the Rev. Douglas Hart, officiating. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery followed by the repast at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at 814 East Sixth Street, Bogalusa, LA
