Virgil Jackson Sr. was born on February 5, 1931 in Bogalusa, LA to the late Verna Roberts Jackson and Jasper Jackson he was the only child, but has sibling relationships with all his cousins.

Virgil peacefully transitioned into the Lord's bosom on Wednesday June 17, 2020 in Bogalusa, LA.

VJ as he was called by friends and family, was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Jackson,  his sons Colie Ray and Clayton Jackson and one grandson Christopher Paul Jackson.

He leaves to mourn his sons: Vernell (Lisa), Virgil Jr. (Marylin), Ricky, Donnie and Benjamin (Regina), a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, two sister in laws, nieces and nephews and other family members.
