Thomas Lee Butler was born in Bogalusa on May 12, 1947 to the late Amy and John Butler. Thomas attended Pineview High School in Covington where he graduated. Thomas left Louisiana to Gavin employment in the city of Detroit. He worked at the Board of Education and GenerL Motors (Chevrolet division). Thomas didn't meet any strangers. Thomas would make you laugh and cry. He'd help anyone that needed help. He was a faithful member of Sun United Methodist Church. Thomas loved music, his favorite songs were sung by Johnny Taylor: These Last Two Dollars and Soul Heaven to name a few.

Thomas took his transition on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Our Lady of the Angels.

Thomas was a father to a lot of people in the community he knew everyone.

His children:Tho as, Jr. (preceded him in death), Keisha Butler of Detroit, MI, Terry Penn. off Texas, Denise Haskin of Slidell, LA, Darryl Butler of Sun, LA, Peyton Butle of Sun, LA, PrestonButler of Sun, La and six grandchildren. Also host of family friends and many nieces and nephews.
