Shelia Ann Gibson Davis was born January 20, 1963 to Delores Peters and Leonard Laurent Sr. After a long battle with cancer, she departed this life and transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 15, 2022. A home where there is no more sorrow, pain, death or tears.

It would be wrong to say that Shelia lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Shelia stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Shelia. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight. Shelia was a jack of all trades. She could literally do anything she put her mind to. I'm sure she's up in heaven now, trying to find something to build or put together.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her devoted mother Delores Peters and step-father Loron Peters Sr. of Angie, LA., her children Shevicia Gibson and Taurus Gibson of Atlanta, GA., five grandchildren: Emmanuel Hatcher, Xaden Armstrong, Teyana Gibson, Prince Howard and Taurus Gibson Jr. Sisters: Patricia May, Ruby (Joe) Ellison, Brenda Irvin and Cynthia (Kenneth) Kennedy, Cassandra Lewis, Sylvia (Mike) Garett, Angela Laurent, Karla Matthews, Precious Blackburn and Victoria Arrington. Brothers: Loron Peters, Cedric (Shuntell) Gibson, Derrick Gibson and Christopher (Tasche') Peters, Victor Peters, Zeron Williams, Eric Foster, Michael (Gwen) Laurent and Andrew Laurent. Special nieces: Min. Hilda R. Porter, Sheilda P. Madkins, Janice Evans and Jacqueline Woods. Special nephews: Bishop-Pastor Brian Galloway, Robert L. Porter and Foster-sister Mary Ann Robinson. Four very special friends: Janet Magee, Joycelyn Clairborne-Kirton, Cynthia Brock and Jackie Miller-Wilson.Two special friends: Burris Curtis Hodges and Michael Jackson. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.

Shelia was preceded in death by her grandparents: Lena Bell Draughn and Mixon Draughn, her father Leonard Laurent Sr., brothers: Harold Gibson, Leonard Laurent Jr., Andre Laurent and Perry Laurent. Foster-brother: Harry L. Porter Jr and Sammy Plummer. Foster-parents: Louis and Cardie M. Jackson.
