Obituary

On Saturday, March 1, 2014. an angel of the Lord appeared and whispered to Mr. Roderick Glynn Mabon, "Your suffering is over……..'Welcome Home." Roderick Mabon was born on May 21, 1960 to the late Mrs. Dorothy Crosby and Mr. GenelMabon. Rod was a 1978 graduate of Franklinton High School and was employed with Creel Brothers  for 20 years as an articulated off road truck driver.  He really enjoyed his work and his co-workers. He was a supporting, loving and caring father, grandfather, and friend.  He loved to be around family and friends.  He was the best "horse-shoe" player and taught many how to play the game.  He really enjoyed life.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Crosby and Genel  Mabon, and a daughter, TyieshaMabon. He leaves to celebrate memories of his life a daughter, Daneeka (Matthew) Mabon Washington; stepfather, David Crosby; three sisters, Phyllis Lewis of Gloucester, MA; MaliekaJoiMabon; and  Charrisse (Dwight) Thomas of Overland, KS; a brother, Genel Tyrone Mabon of Milwaukee,  WI; two granddaughters, Zhanique Wilson and Zhyiah Washington;  Five aunts, Catherine Lee, Sandra (James) Brock, Wilda Magee, Yvonne(Lee)   Henry, and Virginia Lewis;  three  uncles, Allen Taylor, Lawrence Taylor, and Tom Bell and a host of other relatives and  friends.
