Robert Lionel Fields, Sr. was born December 3, 1950 in Bogalusa, La. the sixth child to the union of Robert Fields and Inez Nathaniel Fields. He departed this life on Monday, December 24, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Lionel accepted Jesus Christ as his personal saviour at an early age and was raised in Salter Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He later found the love of his life Cora Ester Miller and they were united in holy matrimony and to that union seven children were born. Lionel was a devoted husband, father, a Loving brother and uncle who truly loved his family. He enjoyed music of all types, fishing, hunting, and was a mechanic that could make it work.
Preceded in death by his parents Robert "BOB" Fields and Inez Nathaniel Fields; three sisters Marcel Fields, Barbara Ann Fields, and Mary Louise F. Foster, and a son Jabus N. Fields.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cora E. Fields; six children Robert E. Fields of Tampa, Fl, Aunitra (Willie)Ellis, Rhonda Fields, Robert L. Fields, Jr. Alton (Charlotte) Fields, and April (Tomlando) Hatcher all of Bogalusa, La. 36 grandchildren, one great great-child. Four sister, Minister Betty J. Fields,and Alicia F. Lewis (Joel) of Bogalusa, La. Eleanor K. Banks (Steve) of Tuscaloosa, Al, and Velma R. Meredith (Blaine) of Baton Rouge, La. Three brothers; Arcel Fields of Bogalusa, La., Joe N.Fields of Forth Worth, Tx. and Melvin Fields (Shelly) of Bogalusa, La. One aunt; Louvenia Nathaniel Gage of Houston, Tx. a brother-in-law Joel Miller of Bogalusa, La. and a sister-in-law Felicia Smith of Tampa, Fl. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation Saturday,December 29,11-1p.m. at Salter Chapel following with service starting at 1 p.m.
