Obituary

R.J. (Gene Boy) Williams, Jr. was born October 5, 1935, to the Late R.J. Sr. and Mary Pittman Williams. He departed this life on Thursday, May 24, 2012 surrounded by family and friends.

He joined the MT. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Varnado, La. Under the leadership of Rev. B.B. Moses, where he remained a member until his death.

R.J. began working at an early age with his father in the logging business, and continued in this occupation for many years. Because of his skill and speed with the saw, he was given the nickname of "Bollweevil" by those who worked with him.

R.J. loved children and has helped in the rearing of many. He could always be found transporting children to football or pickup truck. Many children in the Varnado and Angie community have taken a ride on the back of that truck. He was affectionally known to all of them as

"Paw Paw." He was united in marriage to Mae Ella Fields Williams, to this union 1 daughter was born, Barbara Ann Williams Foster, both preceded him in death. On January 1, 1982, he united in marriage to Lila (Nita) Harris Williams.

He is survived by his wife Lila "Nita" Williams of Angie, La. 3 sons Undra (Julie) Moses, of Los Angelos, Ca. Zachery Holmes of Rochester, N.Y. and Patrick J. (Shunta) Williams, of Baton Rouge, La. 2 daughters Uvette (Jason) Dante' of Portland, OR., and Anitra (Don) Bickham of Angie, La., 2 brothers, Mirles Williams of Angie, La. And Charles Williams of Las Vegas, NV. 1 sister, Vivian Harry of Angie, La. Brothers-in-law Rev. Edwin (Mary Ann) Harris of Port Allen, La., Rev. Jimmy ( Lois) Harris and Isaiah Harris III of Alexandria, La. 4 Sisters-in-law, Martha (John) Lewis of Matten, IL., Stella Dorsey of Marietta, Ga. Mary (Rev. Charles) Carter, and Frances Perry of Alexandria, La., A special niece Tammy (Edward) Sartin Sr. of

Bogalusa, La., 2 Great-nephews he helped rear, Gary Crumedy and Brandon Lee of Angie, La. 12 Grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces, who loved him dearly and other relatives and friends. He was proceded in death by his parents R.J. & Mary Pittman Williams, Daughter Barbara Ann Williams Foster & Husband Edward C. Foster, Sr. Granddaugter Farren Alyse Willliam, Step Grandson Antonio T. Peters, brother Jobie Williams & Sister Sarah A. Carter.

Visitation will be Friday, June 1 at Cook-Richmond from 2-6p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. A.S. Nelson, Officiating.

Interment will be at Robinson Cemetery Varnado, La.
