My Life
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3& 8

Rance La'Ray Weary, the thirty-seven year old son of Johnny Ray and Arlene Weary was born July 10, 1976, in Bogalusa, La. On Saturday, July 21, 2013, God said, "It is finished Rance, I want you to see the face of the King that places the moon and stars in the sky." God sent his army of chariots to carry him home to a place of no more sorrow, heart break, life uncertainties, or disappointments. His Christian journey began at an early age under the leadership and direction of Dr. Alphonso Nelson. Throughout his journey, he attended church with his Mother at Perfective Ministry in Bogalusa, La. under the leadership of Apostle Gregory Johnson. Like King David, he hid the word of God in his heart. Those who knew him, knows that he acknowledged the goodness of Jesus.
He grew up in the Jones Creek community and resided in Bogalusa, La for many years. He was known for his wittiness and joy for life. He enjoyed fishing with his Father and family. He loved cooking and sharing his delights with family and friends. He enjoyed playing with his two sons teaching them to lift weights, and coaching from the sideline as his son played football. Enthusiastically, he assisted coaching for the Bogalusa Little League. Rance had a zest for life; he treasured his family. He was a fashion police for his sisters, saying to them, "Girl, you looking good." or "Girl, that doesn't look right." He made Mothers' Day special by cooking for his Mother, Sisters and special friend. When the family sat around, Rance would belt out an old church hymnal and sing songs of praise with his family. He greeted friends and family with a smile, a joke, leaving them with a heartfelt laugh.
Rance attended Varnado High School where he led the mighty Wildcats football team to several triumphant victories. Rance won the hearts of the Varnado community with his athletic gifts as a running back. He graduated in the VHS Class of 1995. He loved sharing with family and friends his many sports headlines printed in the Bogalusa Daily News like "Weary Runs Wild for the Wildcats." After receiving his high school diploma, Rance received an athletic scholarship to attend Central Ohio College then he later attended University of Arkansas at Monticello. He was employed for the last six years at Double D Meat Company where he enjoyed friends and developed a special bond with a friend who says, "Rance is the best friend I have ever had."
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories, his parents Johnny Ray and Arlene Weary, of Varnado, La., two sons: Myron La'Ray Weary and Rance La'Ray Weary II (RJ); the Mother of his children, Shenette Garrett, and her son Kaylin Stewart. Rance has three sisters: Rachel Weary of Abita Springs, La.; Shantel Weary of Mandeville, La. and Shanita Weary of Bogalusa, La. one brother, Kenneth Robinson of Bogalusa, La.; three nephews, Caston Bolton, Tariq Zenon, and Cayden Weary; four Aunts: Anna Rose Dooley, Sarah Cotton, and Estelle Weary all of Bogalusa, La.; Juanita Spikes of Varnado, La.; three Uncles: Ellis Weary, Johnnie Ree Weary of Bogalusa, La and Jesse Kilpatrick of Carson, California. He has a host of close cousins, classmates, other relatives and friends. Rance has a very special friend he loved dearly, Josh Terrell of Bogalusa, La.
