Oscar Watterson, affectionately known as O. C. and "Tree" was the first born child of Artheria Watterson on March 13, 1944. He was also reared by his grandfather, Thad Magee. He received his religious teaching at an early age at Thirkield United Methodist Church.
Oscar "Tree" was member of Central Memorial High School Class of 1964.
Throughout his life he has worked and lived in Louisiana, Illinois, Mississippi, Texas, and California. He was employed with the City of Bogalusa, Engals Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS and Coca-Cola in California.
His Favorite past time was watching western movies and Jeopardy. He was a checker and dominoes champion.
Oscar was well known and loved by family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Oscar leaves to cherish his memory: six sisters, Artheria (Shane) Watterson, Sharon "Penny" (Clarence) Jenkins, Debra Watterson, Joyce Elaine Watterson, of Houston, TX; Joan Courett, Jewel Simon, six brothers;Robert (Renee) Watterson, Smiley Watterson, Chester (Debra) Watterson, of Houston, TX; Larry (Lazette) Watterson, Sr; Gary Watterson of Bogalusa, LA: Michael Watterson, of Chicago, IL. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
O.C. was preceded in death by his mother, Artheria Watterson and devoted grandfather, Thad Magee and youngest brother, Lurse Watterson, brother-in-law, Lawrence Courett and Charly Simon.
