Sister Nanette Patrice Foster Blackwell was born August 15, 1963, to the parentage of William T. Foster, Jr. and Ella Mae Hatcher Foster in Bogalusa, LA.
On October 21, 2015, God in His infinite wisdom, called Nan to a place of rest, where there is no death, sorrow, pain, or tears.
She attended Century Park Elementary School in Inglewood, CA, continuing her secondary education at Henry Clay High School, also in CA. Wanting more, she enrolled in the School of Technology, and upon completion she was employed by Walmart; where she was employed until her health began to fail.
Nanette was afforded the opportunity at love twice. To her first union, in 1988, two sons were born: Tony Jamall and Steven Markell Osborne. And in 2001, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Lester Blackwell.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Lester Blackwell, Varnado, LA; five sons, Tony Jamall (Crystal) Osborne, Gonzales, LA; Steven Markell (Keisha) Osborne, Bogalusa, LA; Jonathan and Jermaine Blackwell and Nicholas Menirna, Baton Rouge, LA; four daughters, Myesha C. Harry (daughter/niece), Varnado, LA; Ashley Blackwell, Chicago, IL; Fonda (Steve) Ducre, Baton Rouge, LA; Monique Font and Racquel Sam-Mark; four grandchildren, Amiya, Caleb, and Kylie Osborne, Gonzales, LA; Symphony Smith, Bogalusa, LA; her parents, William T. & Ella M. Foster, Angie, LA; three sisters, Anita (Gregory)Howard, Shondalon G. Foster, and Melissa A. Foster; one brother, Undra R. (Lisa) McKenzie; 24 other grandchildren; three aunts, Lucille (Rev. Llewellyn) Nichols, Faye Parnell, and Mary May; one uncle, Andrew (Frenchie) Foster; a second mother, Gloria Jefferson; three God sisters, Jessica D. Hardge, Keysha Harris, and Jackie Green; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Nan has many God children, not just in LA, but also in California, where she spent a lot of time. This was largely because of her free spirit, smile, and self-assurance children were drawn to her. Just to name a few: Erica George, Keasha Randall, Edward Wilson and Gameil Burris. Each of you, including those not listed, know what you meant to her and the love she showed.
She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, William T., Sr. & Edna Foster and Johnnie & Savannah Hatcher; aunts, Margie L. Johnson and Devora foster; uncles, Oscar L. Moses and Booker T. & Clemeal Hatcher; and cousins, Savannah Bell and Anthony Foster.
