Sister Myrtle Brown James was born in Angie, Louisiana to the late Brother JHessie (boy) Brown and Sister Mageline Mark Brown. She was the second of two children.
Sister Myrtle graduated from Wesley Ray High School. She furthered her education by attending Richard Beauty School where she graduated as a licensed beautician.
She united withy the Wesley Ray United Methodist Church at the age of twelve (12).
Sister MJyrtle married the late Brother Harden James, Sr. To this union, five children were born. One girl, Mary and four sons: Jimmie, Harden Jr., Jessie ande Aubry.
Sister Myrtle served in many areas of the church. She was a Sunday School teacher and choir president for many years, United Methodist Womebnm, Trustee, Administrative Board secretary and assistant class leader #8.
She worked for many years as a cafeteria worker. He favorite song, "Let Jesus Fix It."
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter,l Mary (John) Ratliff of Canton, Michigan. Sons, Jessie (Paula) James, Rev. Harden (Makeda) James, Romulus, Michigan, Aubry (Martha) James of Angie, LA. One daughter-in-law, Rosalind James of Hackensack, NJ.
She leaves thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Jessie & Mrs. Mageline Brown, her husband, Harden James, Sr.,one son, Jimmie James, two sisters, Sophia Brown Pitts and Carrie B. Harris.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 16th at 11:00 am. Public viewing at 10:00 am, Wesley Ray United Methodist Church, Angie, LA, Rev. T. August Officiating. Eulogist, Harden James, Jr. Interment Moses Cemetery.
