On August 1, 2026, in the early morning hours, the clouds of Glory rolled back, and Our Heavenly Father received unto Himself His child, Sis Carrie Lee Garrett.

Sis. Carrie Lee Garrett was born January 11, 1938, to the late Edith E. Perry and the late Eugene Jackson.  Her grandparents, Willie and Luler Sr., played a significant role in her upbringing.  She was the oldest of eight children.

Sis. Carrie Lee gave her life to the Lord and was baptized at Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmer, LA where she faithfully  worshipped.  After moving to Folsom, LA she joined Midway Church of Christ (Holiness) USA under the leadership of Eld. Vernon Kennebrew then served under Bishop Leroy Divinity, Jr. until her passing.

Sis. Carrie Lee attended 1st through 6th grades at Good Hope School located on Oak Ridge Church property in Wilmer, La, then 7th through 12th grades to O.W. Dillon in Kentwood, LA

Sis Carrie Lee married Theotas Garrett in 1956 to this union 5 children were born.  Soon after her last children was born, her beloved husband tragically passed.

As a testament to her faith on God and courageous spirit, she raised her children to adulthood.  During her years of marriage, she was a faithful companion.  She worked in childcare for many years and become a licensed foster care parent nurturing many children, many of whom still call her mom.  She demonstrated her gift of help and proved her passion for others by helping, caring, and sharing her love for others.  "We love because He first loves us." 1John 4:19

She leaves with loving memories her children; Brenda Collins of Folsom, LA; Margaret (Rick) Andrews of Allen, TX: Yulonda (Fred) James of Folsom, LA; Felicia (Lionel) Thomas of Folsom, LA, Her devoted grandchildren ; Khalilah (Fabian), Jerrilyn- (Timothy), Jasmine, Andrea, Justin (Karon), Jordan, Ashley, Andrew, Shon, Myranisha, Mikaili, Trey, Tyran, Debra, and De'Laney, Sis Carrie Lee has 16 great grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, two brothers; Charles Ray (Theresa) Perry of Wilmer, Jimmy (Cynthia) Perry of Wilmer, La; one sister Rose Dixon (Tyrone) of Harvey, La, Sis -in-Laws Bertha (Matt) Pitts of Baton Rouge, LA, Linda (Bobby) Magee of Franklinton, LA, Elnora Perry of Tangipahoa, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Theotas, son John, granddaughters Brittiney and Jessica, mother, Edith Perry, father, Eugene and stepfather Jimmy, two brothers Leon and Melvin Perry, and sisters Geraldine and Johnnie Dillon.
