Brother Mitchell Glen Dillon was born in Bogalusa, LA, on December 7, 1959, to the late Leonard Sr. and Sophia Corine Dillon. He was raised in the home of Jimmy and Willener Dillon Travis. He departed this life on February 5, 2024, at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, LA
Mitch joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Ivy Williams. He graduated from Varnado High School in 1977, and after graduation, enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. After serving in the United States Army for 6 years, He also ranked as serving as SGT., he worked in many industries including logging, carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, and landscaping, and he shared his knowledge, teaching many of his nephews and grandchildren along the way.
In 1983, he was blessed to become a father to his belated son, Perry Bernard Lundy, and in 1987, his beloved daughter Nizoreia Youngblood was born. He was joined in matrimony to Ruth Smith on December 07,1997
Throughout his life, he loved fishing in his boat, cooking out and visiting with family and friends, sharing family history, and being a jokester.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Ruth Smith Dillon of Ponchatoula, La.; mother-in-law Mary Smith, Pontachaula, one daughter,Nizoreia Youngblood(Rodney) of Angie, La.; three grandchildren, Richard Sam Jr., Richelle Youngblood,and Rishard Sam, all of Angie, LA.; four step-children he helped to rear, Nicole, Quentin, Larissa and Danielle all of Ponchatoula, La. Five brothers, Lucious (Linda) Dillon of Sharon, Ma., Leonard(Stevie) Dillon, Jr., of Mansfield, Ohio; William (Doris) Dillon, Sr., and Ray (Celestine) Dillon of Angie, La., and Samuel (Catherine) Collins of Sebring, Fl. Three sisters, Doris (Huey) Bickham and Patricia (Robert Sr.) Temple of Angie, La.; and his twin, Cynthia Robertson of Denham Springs, La. Sister-in-law Linda Dillon of Varnado, La. God-sisters Melinda Martin, Sharon Smith, and Deborah Graves-Garrett, of Angie, La., and Myoshia Mingo-Robinson of Slidell, La. God-brothers John Martin and Cleotha Martin, Jr., of Angie, La. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, step-grandchildren and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Perry Bernard Lundy; one grand daughter Tyshona Morris; parents Leonard Dillon Sr., Sophia Corine Dillon, Jimmy Travis, and Willener Travis; two sisters Gloria Dillon and Sophia Leona Dillon-Bickham, and two brothers David Dillon Sr., and Bernard Dillon Sr.
