Mary Alice Levi was born on March 2, 1941, in Franklinton to Alvia Mae Wilson and John Crumedy. She was reared by Christene "Bodie" Varnado. God called His angel home on February 18, 2015.
She attended and graduated from Franklinton High School. At an early age, she joined St. Paul AME Church. Along in life, she met and married Larry Walter Levi, Jr.
Mary Alice leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Felicia (Frank) McGriggs, Karla (Chris) Penton, Maeocea (Larry) Brown, Chequita (Brandon) Short and Crystal (Jerrold) Montgomery of Bogalusa; eight sons, Keith (Julie) Levi of Holland, MI and Kevin (Kelly) Levi, Douglas (Brenda) Levi Robert (Chandra) Levi, Kendrick(Tessa) Varnado, Rafael (Loren) Wilson and Bernard Forrest of Bogalusa; a son she reared and loved dearly, Paul Kates, Jr.; a favorite son-in-law, Melvin C. Abram; a special cousin, Earline Warren; two special nieces, Angela Forrest-Morris and Rachelle G. Stewart; her sisters and brothers, T. C. (rose) Wilson of Birmingham, AL, Clayton (Marilyn) Wilson, Thomas (Mary) Wilson and Brenda Godbolt of Bogalusa, Fred (Vigre) Crumedy of Memphis, TN, A. C. (Ann) Wilson of Lacombe, Elizizine (J. D.) Warren of Franklinton, Clemetine Wilson of Norfolk, Neb. and Valarie Bridges of Las Vegas; her most special and best memories to 114 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jeffery Devon Levi; four sisters, Ozzie Lee Williams, Brunetia Neil "Big Burn" Spikes-Forrest, Cathy Hart and Henretta Alexander; and one brother, A. C. (Georgielee) Crumedy.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 2 - 6 and Family Hour from 6 - 7 pm.Services were held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Paul AME Church with Rev. R. L. Palmer officiating at 1:00 pm. Interments in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
