Sister Mary Jane Sims Dee was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Robert (Lillian) Sims on January 3, 1928 and was the last of her four siblings.

Early in her life, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mount Zion Baptist Church of Bogalusa under the leadership of the late Reverend E. A. Watkins. After his death, she continued her service with the late Pastor, Reverend E. D. Burns and Pastor, Dr. Atwood J. Luter. While at Mount Zion, Mary served faithful as the Church Financial Secretary until her health prevented her from continuing to serve.

Following her graduation from Central Memorial High School, Bogalusa, LA, she attended Southern University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, LA, graduating with a BS Degree in Home Economics and her Master's Degree in Administration & Supervision. While attending Southern University, she pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She received her Plus 30 Graduate hours from Southeastern University in Hammond, LA. Mary was a dedicated educator and began her Education career with St. Tammany Parish School System but realizing that her local School System needed her more; she continued her teaching in the Bogalusa School System for more than 30 years before retiring.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Ronald (Jeannette) Sims, Sr.; one daughter, Sandra C. White of Arlington, TX; four grandchildren, Roshun Conley, Walter (Monicque) Fox, Christopher (Kay) Fox and Ronald Sims, Jr. Ten (10) great grandchildren: Brandon Conley, Walter Fox, Jr., Arin Fox, Jasmine Fox, De'Jour Burton, Sebastian Fox, Jr., Matthew Fox, Kameron Fox, Shavontae' Sims and Adriana Sims; two nieces, Dorothy Ratliff and Delores Bolton, one nephew, Charles Sims, Jr.

Sister Dee was preceded in death by her husband, the late Charlie Dee, her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert (Lillian) Sims; one brother, Charles Sims, Sr., two sisters, Carrie L. Frazier and Lillian M. Sims; one Godson, Gilbert Henry.

Visitation: Friday, February 19, 2016 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm
Family Hour: Friday, 6:00 - 7:00 pm
Funeral Service: Saturday, February 20, 2016 12:00 noon
