Louis A Simmonds depart this earthly home on Oct. 21st 2012 with loving family at his side. He was born to the late Mr. Alexander and Veronica Simmonds on April 4th 1926 in St. Thomas V. he was one of many children. He departed St. Thomas at a young age and joined the military in World War II where he was Honorably discharge from the service on Sept. 25, 1956. When he left the service he travel to many cities before settling in New York where he work at a New York hospital for many years and retired. Thats where met his loving and devoted wife of 48yrs. They were married in the year of 1964. Of this union they never had any children of there own, but were godparents to Joseph Cabell, Trina Lamb, Antoinette Lamb of New York City and Missionary Carolyn Turner of Bogalusa, La. By beginning godparents to Trina Lamb they unofficially adopted Valerie Lamb as their daughter. After retiring from New York, they returned to Bogalusa to care for his Mother In-Law Missionary Rosa Allen until she departed this earth. He had work at the paper mill for a period of time.He became Ill and had to be hospitalized. Where he had to go to Resthaven living center because he was unable to return home for independent living. He continued to stay in and out of the hospital and nursing homes until he departed this life on October 21, 2012. "He is now rolling with the punches in a better place."Leaving to mourn his devoted loving wife Bertha Simmonds, his bother Joseph Simmonds, nephew Homer Simmonds and a niece Laurice Simmonds-Wilson. Thru marriage he has to mourn L B Jackson and devoted, loving wife Phyllis Jackson and their daughter Uhneqa Young who took on the responsibility of caring for them both in the absence of Valerie Lamb while she was in New York. Also thru marriage he leaves L. S. nephew and sister-in-laws Alice and Raymond Smith from McComb, Mississippi, Vergie Scott, McCombs Mississippi, Bother-in-Law Leslie Osbey from New Orleans Lousiana., Oscar and Marie Osbey from Paris,California. Michael and Janice Osbey, Magonila Mississippi and Paul & Diane Osbey Magonila Mississippi. Host of nephews, nieces, family and friends. We loved you but God love you best so now rest in his loving arms. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
