Louis Charles (June Pie) Otis, Jr., son of the late L. C. Otis, Sr., and the late Yvonne Magee Young was called home on December 2, 2016.
In 1968, June Pie graduated from Central Memorial High School, Bogalusa, LA after which he was employed by Crown Zellerback Box Factory Division. After a couple of years, he moved on to the bright lights of Chicago, Il, there he was employed by Inland Container.
While in Chicago, he met his wife, Bennie Mae Todd. This marriage was blessed with one son, Christopher. June Pie and family relocated back to Bogalusa where he nurtured his entrepreneurial spirit" photography, selling peanuts and candy apples. His catchphrase, "Put you money in your hand, here comes the peanut man" earned his the name "Peanut Man".
We will forever cherish his memory: Three sisters: Rev. Fannie Thompson (Edward) of Liberty, MS, Yvonne R. Wilson of Los Angeles, CA, Marvel (Lincoln) Legare of Springfield, MA and one brother, Amos (Jean) Young, Jr. of Bogalusa, LA; one son, Christopher (Heather)Otis of Baton Rouge, LA and one daughter, Lavonda Otis of Tickfaw, LA; and three grandsons, Triston, Quentin and Tyrone and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his bother, Olden Romel Young, Sr., and will be laid to rest next to his wife, Bennie Otis.
