Obituary

God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed those eyes and whispered, "Peace Be Thine." The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are passed. The ever patient, worn out frame, has found, "sweet rest at last." God saw you getting wear, so He did what He thought was best. He came and stood beside you and whispered, "Come and Rest." You bade no one a last farewell, not even a goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.

Lola Pearl Allen Thomas was born January 28, 1921 in Sandy Hook, MS to Eugene and Mary Jane Allen. Lola was the firstborn child. Lola was joined in Holy matrimony the late Fred Thomas, Sr., on March 11, 1954.

Lola received Christ at an early age at Ford Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. O. D. Alford and Rev. Edward Mark, Sr. now under the leadership of Rev. Archie McGowan. Sister Thomas was a faithful member, she worked diligently as a member of the Senior Mission, she sang in the choir and worked faithfully with the Pastor's Aide for many years. Lola was a good person who was there to help anyone.

We as Christians all have a claim check. There are many things we can purchase with that claim, they are both spiritual and natural. On Wednesday, August 5, 2015, Lola presented her claim check. She has fought a good fight, she have kept the faith and now she shall receive eternal rest.

On the journey into eternity, leaving from the banks of Jordan she leaves to cherish in loving memories: One son, Fred (Debra) Thomas, Jr, three grandsons; Fred (Patricia) Mingo, De'Marcus and Kevin Boston, eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mary Jane Allen, one sister, Clementine Trotter, three brothe4rs: Harrison Allen, Henry Allen and Robert Allen, Sr., and one great grandchild, Sanayia Boston.
