Lawrence Way, 73, of Bogalusa, Louisiana sadly left us on July 28, 2022.  He was born December 19, 1948, at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Wash and Pearl Way, Sr.  he lived in New Orleans until his family moved to Bogalusa so that his Mother and Father could take care of a sick relative.

Lawrence was a 1968 graduate of Central Memorial High School.  Soon after graduating from High School, he enlisted into the United States Army and dedicated 20 years of his life to Uncle Sam until his retirement as a Sergeant First Class in 1988.  He was an 55B Ammunition Specialist for 9 years 8months and a 76Y Unit Supply Specialist for 10 years 9 months.  While in the military, Lawrence received an Army Commendation Medal ((10LC), Army Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th) Award0, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2) Marksman Badge (M-16(), and an NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3).

After retiring from the Military, he started a new career.  He decided to enroll in college and earned an Associate Degree in Computer Programming.  He worked for Eagle Shipping Company for 18 years as a computer programmer until he returned to Bogalusa, Louisiana where he lived until his passing.

Lawrence was a very talented and artistic person, he learned to play several instruments with no formal training at all.  He had one of the most beautiful voices you have ever heard and he loved to sing to his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Wash Way, Sr.; Mother, Pearl Evelyn Way and Brother, Arthur Way.  He leaves to cherish. two brothers, Wash (Penny), Joseph (Kathy); four sisters, Joyce, Doris, Carol, Dianne (Joe) and a host of nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends.
