LaRussia Nicole Douglas was born May 14, 1983 to Ms. Penny Douglas and Mr. Lorne Smith in Bogalusa, LA. A lifelong member of the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, attending Sunday School and Church, singing in the Junior choir, Vacation Bible School and Easter and Christmas participant, even as an Adult--helping her mother fulfil her programs she enjoyed being a servant for the Lord. She attended school in the Bogalusa City School System and was a member of the Spartanettes Service Club. Upon completion of high school, she attended Northshore Technical Community College; earning a certification in Carpentry. LaRussia also went on to become a Certified Nurse's Assistant.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, her pride and joy, JaVonte Micole Douglas; her mother, Penny Douglas, of Bogalusa, LA; she is survived by Jaylon Williams of Bogalusa, LA; two brothers, Darryl Douglas, Sr. of Lafayette, IN and Janerio (Devionne) Douglas, of Dallas, TX; a very special nephew Darryl Douglas Jr., of Bogalusa, LA; two special nieces, Kahlani and Brookelyn Douglas, both of Bogalusa, LA, a step-sister, Cora Sterling, of Atlanta, GA; aunts Anne Piper of Baton Rouge, LA, Ernestine Douglas, Ruby Johnson and Sharyl(Craft) Jackson, all of Bogalusa, LA; uncles, James Washinton, of Mobile, AL and Cory Smith, of Hattiesburg, MS; one great-aunt, Emma Walls of Kentwood, LA, very special friends, Donald May, Tecia Hill, Latoundra Warren, Peggy Jones, and Kim Brown, all of Bogalusa, LA, Jameka Hill, of Baton Rouge, LA and Clarissa Lester of Alexandria, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
La Russia was preceded in death by her son Jaylon Williams Jr., her father Lorne Smith, a very special grandmother, Ms. Jessie Lee Douglas and her paternal grandmother, Jessie Smith
