Obituary
The angels of mercy came sweetly and quietly and bore away the soul of Mr. Kim McGowan, Sr., on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the age of 33, in Bogalusa, LA.
Kim was born to Ms. Eddie B. Cooley, of Bogalusa, Louisiana, on July 8, 1979. He was united in marriage to Ms. Quelana J. Walls, on September 6, 2003.
He was baptized at an early by Rev. Edward Marks at Ford's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Kim attended Varnado High School, and graduated with the Class of 1997. Kim was a faithful, loving, and devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Kim's everlasting memories will be cherished by those who loved him: his wife, Quelana J. Walls-McGowan, Bogalusa, LA; his children, Kimmiya McGowan, Livingston, TX, Kimmere McGowan, Ansley Walls, Kimsha McGowan, Kim McGowan, Jr., and K'Asia McGowan, Bogalusa, LA, and Dariunte Bickham, Deatrakious Bickham, Dmyjay Bickham, and Dynashia Bickham, Angie, LA; his mother, Eddie B. Cooley, Bogalusa, LA; his brothers and sisters, Vernon (Renae) Cooley, Lester McGowan, Tammie (Sterling) Laurent, John L. McGowan, Pammie (Wayne Bolton) McGowan, Victor Williams, Maria Weary, Christopher (Robin) Green, Christine (David) Bickham, Lisa Magee, and Victoria Manning; his mother-in-law, Mary L. Walls; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Lerojua Walls, Gurnez Nichols, LaRoderick Bullock, Jeffery (LaTina) Taylor, Aleshia Walls, and Veronica Brown; the father who reared him, Robert "Don" Manning; special friends he considered brothers, Derrick (LaKeisha) May, Javon Morris, and Christopher Smith; special nephews and nieces, Quierra Bickham, Steven Laurent, John L. McGowan, Zijun Walls-Jefferson, Kenneth & Kameron McGowan, and Chaston & Chasidy Dyson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Kim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eddie & Lela McGowan, an aunt, Yvonne McGowan, and an uncle, Mr. James Roy McGowan.
Visitation will be Friday,
Oct. 12, 2-6 p.m. Family Hour 6-7
at Cook Richmond.
