Kenneth Ray McGriggs Jr. was born on September 14, 1969, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, to Kenneth Ray McGriggs Sr. and Brenda McGriggs. From his earliest days, he was surrounded by the warmth of family and the rich culture of his hometown. Growing up, he developed a deep appreciation for family connection, values that shaped his character and guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Bogalusa High School, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and active participation in school activities. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he served in various youth organizations. Upon graduation, Kenneth moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. Kenneth had a passion for traveling and enjoyed exploring new places. His love for social gatherings brought people together, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere wherever he went.
A dedicated employee for 14 years, Kenneth exemplified commitment and hard work in every role he undertook. His tenure in customer service showcased his caring nature and unwavering dedication to helping others. He took great pride in providing security and support to those around him, ensuring that everyone felt safe and valued. Colleagues and clients alike appreciated his kindness and professionalism, which left a lasting impact on their lives. Kenneth's strong work ethic and genuine compassion defined him, earning him respect
and admiration from friends, family, and coworkers. His ability to connect with people and
make them feel heard was a testament to his character and the love he carried in his heart. Kenneth's legacy is one of service, empathy, and a deep commitment to uplifting those around him.
At the time of his passing, Kenneth was a devoted member of Israel United in Christ in New Orleans, where he found a supportive community that shared his values and beliefs. His involvement in the church was a reflection of his deep commitment to his faith, as he participated in various activities and initiatives aimed at uplifting others. Kenneth's legacy of faith and love will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of his friends and family. His absence will be felt profoundly, as he was not only a beloved friend but also a guiding light in the lives of many. Kenneth's memory will be cherished, and his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched throughout his journey.
Kenneth is survived by his loving family and countless friends who will remember him for his kindness, generosity, and the light he brought into their lives. He leaves behind a cherished legacy, remembered fondly by his beloved son, Lionel Anderson and one granddaughter, Kaylani Anderson. His mother, Brenda Brice, will carry his memory in her heart, along with his sister, Helen Anderson-Washington, who shared countless moments of joy and laughter with him. He is also survived by his brothers: Kendall McGriggs, Charles Brice Jr., Rev. Dr. Keith Sanders, and Jeremy Hall, each of whom will remember him for his kindness and strength. In
addition, he was surrounded by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, who shared many cherished memories, as well as a wide circle of friends whose lives he touched. All will hold dear the memories they shared and the love he brought into their lives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Ray McGriggs Sr., whose guidance and love shaped much of his life. He is also survived by cherished memories of his paternal grandparents, Frank McGriggs Sr. and Carrie McGriggs, who instilled strong family values and traditions. Additionally, he was influenced by his maternal grandparents, McClurie Sampson Sr. and Catherine Sampson, whose warmth and wisdom left a lasting impact on his heart. Their legacies of love and support will continue to resonate through the lives of those they touched.
