Kendrick (Squadly) Cook was born on January 29, 1988 to Gwendolyn Cook and Ray Donald Brister. Kendrick was a loving, joyful, caring, and sensitive person. He will be greatly missed in our lives, but we must keep his memories cherished in our hearts.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother, Gwendolyn (Glenn) Cook Smith, six brothers; Jarrod Cook, DeVonte Cook, and Ryan King of Bogalusa, La.; James Mack (Gail) Brister of Albany, GA.; Ray Brister, Jr. of Lake Arthur, LA.; Patrick Brister of Los Angeles, Ca.; one dear sister, Shirae Brister of Bogalusa, LA.; four aunts, Beris (Willie) McCray, Wanda Matthews, Kollette (Royan) Morris all of Bogalusa, LA.; and Barbara (Gregory) Robinson of San Antonio, TX.; two great aunts, Mattie Mae Sandifer of Bogalusa, LA.; and Edwine Bornes of Chicago, IL. Two uncles, Steven Fortner of Wichita, KS. and Willie Holloway of Bogalusa, LA.; two great uncles, Willie June Grindle of Tylertown, Ms.; and James Grindly of Jackson, MS. A very special fiance, Lakeisha Brister, a step daughter whom he loves dearly, Keimaria (Phat) Brister and one unborn son of Bogalusa, LA.; special cousins, Roderick McCray, Roderick Taylor, Dedric Robinson, and Sedric Robinson,Courtney Matthews, of Bogalusa, LA.; a host of other cousins and special friends.
He was preceded death by his father, Ray Donald Brister; a sister, Delane Brister, grandmothers, Velma Fortner and Ollie Mae Brister and grandfathers, George Fortner and Mack Brister.
Visitation will be Friday, July 29 from 2-7 Bethelehem Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 30 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem. Pastor Christopher Matthews, Officiating.
