Obituary

Julius Cleveland, Jr. affectionately called "Uncle Julius" humbly gave a silent sigh  and went home to be with God on the morning of October 27, 2010.  He was the oldest child born to the late Julius and Maggie Cleveland on December 19, 1927 in Cross, South Carolina.
As a young man, Julius left South Carolina and headed north to Detroit, Michigan to obtain employment with the Chrysler Corporation where he worked on the assembly line and was an active member of the United Auto Workers (UAW) for over 30 years.  After retiring from Chrysler, Julius returned to his home state of South Carolina to enjoy the fruit of his labor.  He attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Charleston, South Carolina where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of Rev. R. M. Pitts.  Julius was a faithful member of the Sunday School department.
of Rev. R. M. Pitts.  Julius was a faithful member of the Sunday School department. After several years, he left South Carolina where he settled and made his home in Amite, Louisiana where he united with Little Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Frank A. Davis, III.
Julius was a very quiet and hard working person who enjoyed watching his favorite baseball team, the Detroit Tigers, old Western shows, The Lawrence Welk Show, Hee Haw and The Andy Griffin Show on television. He loved his family and had his peculiar way of expressing his love to each of them.
As life went on and his health began to fail him, he had the love and support of his family and a host of caregivers who was like family to him. His caregivers were very special to him and he looked forward to seeing them: Mrs. Lois Warner, whom he affectionately called "My Lady", Linda Lewis, John Walker, Janel Jackson, Lillie Warner, and Floyd, Jennifer, Jonathan and Jeremy Shropshire. He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Harold Cleveland Sr., and a daughter, Gloria (Charles) Bell, both of Detroit, MI; brother, Jonathan (Ollie)Prioleau, Pineville, SC; two faithful and devoted nieces, Jacqueline (Raymond) Foster, Sr. and Cynthia (Johnnie) Johnson, of Amite, LA; nieces, Carolyn Weaver, Charleston, SC; Natasha(Jason) Wright, Atlanta, GA; nephews, Anthony (Irene) Weaver, Ft.
