Joseph Earl Ducre was born on March 25, 1943 in Lacombe, Louisiana to the parents of Mary Phillips and Victor Ducre. He accepted christ at an early age. He was faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Otis Brumfield. Joseph served as a Sunday School Teacher and never hesitated to serve where ever he was needed. His hobbies were fishing and bowling.
He met and married the love of his life, Rosie Taylor on June 24, 1968. To this union three children were born. Joseph was a devoted husband and father. He spent his entire life caring for his family.
Joseph was a lover of people. He never met a stranger. He was always smiling. He constantly had a joke and a story to cheer people up.He leaves to cherish his memories, celebrates his life's work, and continue his legacy: ;two sons, Joseph E. Ducre, Jr. and Brian Lee Ducree of Goodbee, La. ; one daughter, Alicia Ann (Kenneth) Speed of Independence, La. ; one daughter-in-law Andrea Ducre of Patterson, La. ; three sisters, Louise (Ernest) Williams of Covington, La. Mary Lou (John) Taylor of Goodbee, La. and Lorraine Snowden of Wylie, Tx.; three grandchildren, Ashley Ducre, Joanna Ducre, and Rashad Johnson; one great grandchild, Sydney Christopher; one aunt Ella (Edward) Selmon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
