John Kagler departed this life on April 28, 2024, at his home in Picayune, Mississippi.
John was born in Franklinton, Louisiana to the late Elmo Kagler, Sr., and the late Lillie Mae Bickham-Kagler on April 17, 1946. John was the 5th of 12 children (9 boys and 3 girls) born to this union.
His Christian faith began early in life as a member of Hayes Creek Baptist Church, pastored by the late Linwood Bolton Sr.
He dedicated the majority of his life to serving the general public of greater Houston, Texas as a taxi driver for over 30 years and proudly amassed over a million miles of service during his career.
He leaves to cherish his memories 1-significant other, Cheryl Ross of Picayune, Mississippi, 1-son, Larry Kagler of white Plains, Maryland, 2- step sons, Quinton Ross of Houston, Texas, Robert Booker of Picayune, Mississippi. 3-daughters, Mary Albizures of Lancaster, California, Veronica Lagler of Violet, Louisiana, and Katrina Kagler-Harper of Rowlett, Texas. 6-Brothers, Jimmie Kagler of New Orleans, Louisiana, Lynell Kagler of Slidell, Louisiana, Walter Kagler of New, Orleans, Louisiana, Pernell Kagler, Sr, of Tallahassee, Florida, Prentiss Kagler of Franklinton, Louisiana. 2 -sisters Antoinette Kagler and Betty Toomer of Franklinton, Louisiana. He leaves behind 8-grandchildren and 6-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents (Elmo Kagler Sr., and Lillie Mae Kagler), a son (Wallace Kagler), a brother (Willie Earl Kagler, Elmo Kagler Jr., and Edward James Kagler) a sister (Bertha Mae Kagler) and hid granddaughter (Corinthia Kagler).
