On June 17, 1955 John (J.Y.) Jones was born to the late John and Mary Peters Jones in Angie, Louisiana.  J.Y. departed this life on April 29th, 2018 surrounded by family and friends.

He was baptized at an early age at Mary's Chapel United Methodist Church in Varnado, LA, where he attended Sunday School, Choir and MYF and was active in all activities of the church and community.  John knew the object of Christ death was life, a Christian death gives him abundant life.

John was united in marriage to Sandra Ishman Jones foe 36 years, She was the love of his life.  John leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Sandra; four sons, 2 daughters; 2 Sisters; 12 grandchildrens and 1 great grand; daughter-in-laws; brothers-in-laws and life long family members that are brothers by love and cousins that are dear to his heart.

There will be a Public Viewing Friday May 4, 2018 2-6 p.m. and a Family Hour from 6-7 p.m. at the Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Rev Nolan Robinson officiating  Funeral Services will be Saturday May 5th at Mary's Chapel U.M. Church Varnado at 11a.m.
