John Edward "John Boy" Mingo Sr. was born March 18, 1963, to Ruby Lee Foster Mingo and the Late Arthur Ray Mingo. John departed his life on Friday March 17, 2023 at his residence in Bogalusa, LA.
John graduated from Varnado High School in 1981. John was employed with the family trucking business, Mingo Trucking for many years, before becoming an owner/operator of John Mingo Trucking. John held many titles: Full-time Father and Grandfather, Carpenter, Mechanic, Chef, Counselor, Coach, Mentor, Educator, and Friend.
John was a force of nature; determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something that he often mentioned and expressed with great pride.
John leaves to cherish his five daughters, Lacungra JonShay Mingo of Bogalusa, LA, Erika Jonte'(Cleotha Jr.) Martin of Pearland, TX, Tameka (Parnell) Gordon II of Hammond, LA, Paris Leann Mingo and London Leann Mingo of Conroe, TX; two sons Ricardo Burnette of Slidell, LA and John Mingo Jr. of Conroe, TX; one god-daughter Myleeza Mingo; his mother Ruby Lee Foster Mingo; grandchildren JaMya Mingo-Young, Houston Xavier Martin, Kaylyn Burnette, DeMarquis Burise Jr., Dallas Kalia Martin, Alila Haik, Yahri Burnette, Jameka Sampson, Jamia Dawson, Parnell Gordon III, and Jada Gordon; three sisters Sandra (Robert) Robinson of Varnado, Debra Mingo and Phlesher Mingo both of Bogalusa, LA; six brothers Arthur A. Mingo of Varnado, Cedric (Tameka) Mingo, Billy (Kalyca) Mingo, Brandon Greely, Byron Greely, and Darrious Greely all of Bogalusa, LA; special friend Marisa Pam of Bogalusa, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Anyone who knew John could attest that he was the most loving father and grandfather a family could ask for. John was preceded in death by his father, Arthur R. Mingo, his maternal grandparents James and Grace Foster, paternal grandparents Gabriel and Nancy Mingo, aunts, and uncles.
