Obituary
I have fought a good fight,I have finished my course,I have kept the faith:Hence forth there is laid up for me a crown of rightousness,which the Lord,the righteous judge,shall give me at that day; and not to me only,but unto all that love his appearing(II Timothy 4:7-8)
On October 15,2013 an angel of the Lord appeared and said my child well done and he answered the call
John E. Ard was born on January 9,1929 to the late Oscar and Maggie Ard.John was born and raised in Greensburg,La. He attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Tom Bailey,Jr. He was a faithful member until his health failed. John worked varoius places throughout his life including New Orleans,as a truck driver and mechanic worker. His great passion was gardening,cooking and helping others.His life exemplified the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:and he delighteth in his way(Psalm 37:23)John's pleasent and nurturing spirit will forever be missed
John joined in holy matrimony to Dorothy Ard for 27 years to this union one child was born,John J.Ard.John leaves to cherish his loving memories his devoted wife,Dorothy Quinn Ard of Bogalusa,La,His four sons,John(Tekeisha) Ard of Bogalusa,La,Kevin Ard of Covington,La,Wendell and Johnnie Ard of New Orleans,La,three step-children, Earnest R. Dillion, Clarence Quinn and Lillie(Ronald) Brown all of Bogalusa,La.
One brother,Leroy(Gerldine)Ard,one sister,Martha(Walter) Hamler,One sister-in-law,Emma Ard all of Greensburg,La. His grandchildren whom he loved dearly,Takia Ard of Covington,La.,Javontay Owens,Laderious Rasad Johnson,Montrell and De'Mireyea Quinn,Kenisha Flot,Natoya Toomer all of Bogalusa,La.Daron K.(Monica) Wells of Baton Rouge,La.,Bryen(DawnBrown,Shamicka(Paris Smith both of Texas, Nikki Dillon of Atlanta,Georgia.And eight great grandchildren,and host of neices,nephews and other family members.
John was preceded in death by his parents,Oscar and Maggie Ard, his daughter,Pearl Ard,his siblings,Joseph Ard Sr, Florence P. Ard and Merdis Ard
Visitation is schedule for Thursday,October 24,2013 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa,La from 2-6pm with family hour from 6-7pm The funeral Service will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Friday,October 25,2013 at 11:00,with Rev. Tom Bailey,Jr, officiating,Intermet Bogalusa Cemetery
