Jerry Don "JD" Tate, 68, was born in Mt. Herman, LA to the late James and Lucy Mae Davis Tate on March 25, 1943, he departed this life on Wednesday June 29, 2011 in Bogalusa, LA.
Jerry was affectionately known as JD to his family and friends, he was the eldest son of five children. He attend Bogalusa Public Schools in Bogalusa, LA. Jerry believed in hardwork, he always kept a job. He loved and enjoyed his family, cars, hats, cowboy boots, and laughing. Jerry always had a smile on his face, he was joy to be around.
On November 15, 1967 Jerry Tate and Dorothy Perkins were joined in Holy Matrimony, Jerry and Dorothy were married 42 years and are the proud parents of five children. He was a proud father that always talked about his children.
Jerry was preceded in death by a daughter Marquita Renette Tate, his parents James and Lucy Mae Davis Tate, his sisters Ethel Jane and Mary Jane, and his brother Wille "Red" Tate, Sr. Jerry leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Dorothy J. Tate, his sons Bobby F. (Julie) Tate , Sr, Seamon "C-Mo" Gordon, and Mario Tate, his daughters Cathy L. Tate and Shawanda "Wanda" Tate (Nathan) Sledge. His brother Frank Tate, his uncle Rev. Amos Davis (Edna), 9 grandchildren Dernario, Lakendric, Timothy, Octavia, Bobby Jr, Dana, JR, Christian, and Macoria, 2 great grandchildren Damario and Iyana, and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
