JOHN E. QUINN
Mr. John E. Quinn was born on April 30, 1936 to the parentage of the late Mr. Jabie Holmes and the late Alice Quinn Dulce.
James "Gypsy" Quinn was reared in Tylertown, MS until he later moved to New Orleans, LA. He was given the nickname "gypsy" for his love of music and dancing.
In 1975, he became an employee of Barrier construction as a cement finisher. He was a long term employee and retired in 2010.
In 1989, he married the love of his life, Mrs. Patricia N. Quinn. Quinn was the proud father of four (4) daughters: Lori Mixon, Laura (Mike) Rankins, Margret H. Pride and Antrice Jones; one stepdaughter, Denise (Terrell) Robinson, whom he reared as his very own; one godchild, Jeffery Bishop, fifteen (15) grands and fourteen (14) great grands, and a host of nephews and nieces and many friends. Yes, Gypsy was loved and adored by many.
He also leaves to cherish his memories two (2) sisters; Nora (Isreal) Walker and Carrie (Jackie) Fortenberrry, a brother-in-law, Hiram Nurse, a devoted nephew, Charlie (Cynthia) Bullock, a cousin/caregiver, Claudia Haynes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Quinn, daughter, Denise Robinson, four (4) brothers: O. D. Holmes, I. H. Holmes, J. b. Holmes and Rayford Holmes; four (4) sisters: Cacey Senedal, Ollie Mae Claiborne, Bertha Mae Harrison and Norma Lee Bullock.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Mary's Chapel United Methodist church in Varnado, Louisiana at 1:00pm with Rev. Louis Allen Smith, officiating, Rev. Terrence August, pastor and Rev. Lloyd Guy, Eulogist. Interment will be in Robinson Cemetery.
