JAMES SAMUEL "SAM" JOHNSON

James Samuel Johnson, 66 passed away at his residence in New Orleans, LA on October 11, 2016.

He was born to the union of the late Jason Johnson, Sr. and Allah Mae (Austin) Johnson. He was the youngest of four children. He attended school in Bogalusa and graduated from Central Memorial High School in 1968. He served in the U. S. Army for 2 ½ years. After his honorable discharge, he attended Sullivan Vo-Tech for 2 years in machinery. From there, employment at Avondale Shipyard in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1973, he married Elaine Robertson, who preceded his in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Alexis Marie Johnson of Gulfport, MS; two sisters: Betty J. Smith of New Orleans, LA and Sarah Johnson (Larry) Morris of Bogalusa, LA; one brother, Jason Johnson, Jr., of New Orleans, LA; four (4) nephews, one (1) niece, two (2) great-nephews and three (3) great-nieces. Also a host of in-laws, relatives and friends and his special pet dog, Samantha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin infant girls and his wife.

Visitation will be held at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 9 – 10am funeral service immediately following. Pastor Domet Dooley officiating. Interment
