James Edward Cooper age 65, departed this life on April 2, 2024 at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Houston Texas.

James was born in Bogalusa, La to the late LC and Pollie Cooper on April 09, 1958.  James was 1 of 5 children born to this union.

James attended and graduated from Bogalusa High School with the Class of 1977.

He worked as a custodian for many years with the Bogalusa City School System.  He also worked in construction until he relocated to Houston where he remained until his death.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Jalisa Peters of Bogalusa, La. one son, James Peters of California and one special son Darrick Peters of Bay St. Louis Mississippi, Three sisters; Novella Cooper, Houston Texas, Della Cooper and Sandra Lusk of Bogalusa, LA. one brother, Robert Cooper of Bogalusa, La. two grandchildren; Jan'Nayah Staughter and James Peters Jr.  A host of nieces nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, LC and Pollie Cooper, nephews Maurice R. Cooper and Derrick Mckelphin.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my  fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalms: 91:1,2.
