Mr. Hosea C. Johnson was the fifth of eight children born in Varnado, Louisiana to the late Henry and Rebecca Forbes Johnson. He departed this life on July 26, 2025 at the age of 81 years. He lived his life in the Varnado- Angie communities

Mr. Johnson completed high school at Wesley Ray High School, and graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. He taught math, science and physical education for 34 years, as a faithful teacher at Wesley Ray Elementary School in Angie, Louisiana.

Mr. Johnson loved sports, During his teaching years at Wesley Ray, he also ran the May Day activities. He was a basketball official for 30 years, as well as a football official for 25 years for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association.

He was married to the late Bernell Roberts in 1967 and to this union two children were born.
He leaves to mourn his passing: His two children, Byron Johnson (Terri Johnson) and Derrick  Johnson (Cynthia Johnson) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana .Grandchildren: Eugenia Williams, Trajan Johnson, Alexie Johnson, Jacquez Johnson, Hose'a Johnson, Aaron and Avery Johnson,Tiaria and Leigh Nardra Dorsey; great-grandchildren; Joshua Scott Jr, Victoria Scott, Rhyann Dorsey, Avouri Richardson, and Mary Johnson. One sister Ruby Nell Weary of Bogalusa, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Bessie, Glory, Maguerite, Joyce and Ernestine, and one brother, Ernest
