Hazel Parker Norris and her twin made their entrance into this world September 19, 1933 born to the late Rev. Charlie (Fannie Richardson) Parker in Bogalusa. She graduated from Lanier High School in Jackson, Ms. Later returned to Bogalusa and worked at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center. She then later moved to Bronx, NY where she worked at Community Bank until moving back to Bogalusa. She was employed in the dietary department at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center until her retirement. She met and married James Norris, Sr. They had a faithful marriage until his death. She loved the company of her family and friends.
After a lengthy illness, she made a peaceful transition on Tuesday, July 26, at 4:30 p.m. at the Rest Haven Living Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Michelle Parker, her parents, her sisters Delia Williams, Ethel Sutton, Josephine Moore, and Katherine Evans and her brothers John, Charlie, Mayfield, Robert, and Herbert (her twin)
She leaves to cherish tender loving memories her grandchildren, DeMario Parker of Baton Rouge and Megion Parker of Bogalusa. Sisters, Melinda (Joe) Griffin (Jackson, Ms.) & Dorothy (Ardee) Rose (Kannapolis, NC.), and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 2-7, Friday July 29 at Cook-Richmond.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 30 at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church
