Obituary

Sis. Grace Mondy Foster, 83, a resident of Varnado, La. peacefully departed her earthly home on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Northshore Specialty Hospital in Covington, La. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Bro. James Foster on September 20, 1945 to this union ten children were born.
Sis. Grace Mondy Foster accepted christ at a very young age at Wesley Ray United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Reed. She later joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A.L. Owens and remained a faithful servant under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Linza R. Cotton where she served aas finance secretary and usher board for over 50 years until her health failed.
Sis. Grace Mondy Foster were an insurance agent for Universal Life Insurance for 47 years. She also was an agent for Cook-Richmond Funeral Service. Sis. Foster also attended Mae's Beauty College and became a Cosmetologist. She was loved by many as Mother, Mama Gracie, Madea and Aunt Gracie. She was known for her famous "Red Beans" filled with the ingredients of her "LOVE" for people and her family.
She leaves to cherish her memories her four children, Mrs. Ruby L. Foster Mingo of Bogalusa, Bobby L. Foster, Faylene Foster and Vennette Foster Sheridan all of Varnado, La. She also leaves to cherish her memories six stepchildren, Mrs. Jamie L. Peters, Carolyn Walker (Janola), Tyrone Pigott (Demorace) of Bogalusa, La. Larry Mark (Annette) of Angie, La., Nicole Peters Curedy (Broderick) of Dallas, Tx. and Sheray McLellan (Douglas) of Detroit, Michigan. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Roxie Roberts, Mrs. Luella Jackson, of Angie, La. and Betsy L. Lee of Oakland, California, three brothers. Mr. Virgil Mondy (Olivia), Leonard Mondy of Angie, La. and Herman Mondy (Ida) of Oakland, California. 1 brother-in-law, Mr. Richard Foster of Angie, La. and one sister-in-law Mrs. Joann Mondy of Detroit, Michigan.
She also leaves, Mr. Bobby Nichols, Rev. Linza Cotton (Karen) and Angela L. Robinson (Rev. Nolan) all of Varnado, La. and Mrs. Cynthia Mingo (Gary) of Angie, La. Whom she was very fonded of ; Sixteen grandchildren, forty-four grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James Foster five sons James Earl Foster, Willie Lee Foster, Ray Pigott and two still-birth; four daughters Joan Marie Foster, Deborah Denise Foster, Ossilean Foster and Paulette Foster one granddaughter Cathy L. Amos, her parents Teman and Floretta Mondy two son-in-laws Jeffrey Sheridan, Sr. and Arthur Ray Mingo. Three brothers Olive, O.C. and Freddie Will Monday two sisters Hattie T. Foster and Velma Nichols.
Visistation will be Friday, Oct.21 at Cook-Richmond from 2-6 Family Hour 6-8. Funeral Service will be Saturday, Oct 22 at New Zion M.B. Church Varnado, La. Rev. Linza Ray Cotton, Officiating. Interment will be at B.B. Moses Cemetery.
