Obituary

Freddie Peters, Sr. was born to Hilton Peters and Edgie Lee Peters on May 20, 1954 in Bogalusa, La. God in his infinite wisdom selected him to depart his life on March 31, 2013 at his home in Bogalusa, La.As a child he joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Varnado, La. He attended school at Varnado High. In 1979 Freddie enlisted in the United States Army where he retired as staff sergent.Freddie went to work for Frigidere & Company in Edison, N.J. for several years. He later moved back to his home state of Louisiana where he worked as a correctional officer for WCI in Angie, La.Freddie loved to work with his hands and was known to do odd jobs for whoever was in need. Although fishing was his passion he was most proud of his children. He loved God, family, friends but most of all helping others. His warm smile and gentle words will be forever missed.
He is survived by his wife Delores Peters.He leaves behind to cherish his memory: four sons, Frederick C.A. (Aaliyah) Peters of North Brunswick, N.J., Freddie I. Peters Jr., Jonathan H. Peters and Joshua Peters of Bogalusa, La.; Two daughters, Datisha D. (Desmond) Morris of Sickerville, N.J. and Jasmine M. Peters of Bogalusa, La.Three grandsons, Seth A. Peters, Jessie M. Brumfield, and Nigel Morris; Five sisters and two brothers, Mary (Craig) Thomas, Jaqueline (Dan) Sims, Brendolyn Peters, Inez (Benny) Mickle, and Patricia A. Spears, Larry Peters and Warren (Eva) Peters; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He preceded in death by his father Hilton Peters and his brother Terry Peters.Visitiation will be Friday,April 5,2013 from 2-5 in Cook-Richmond Funeral Home,Family hour will be from 7-8 at New Zion Baptist Church, Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1pm ,Rev.Linza Cotton, officating, Intermet Robinson Cemetery
