Essie Mae Harris born March 7, 1945 to Walter Woods, Sr. and Victoria Harris in Mobile, Ala. She attended Williamson High School in Mobile, Ala. Essie Mae Love accepted christ at the age of 49 an served as a faithful member until her death. She was married to Walter J. Woods, Sr. in 1963. She married Willie Jones, Jr. in 1974.
Essie Mae Harris was united in marriage to Victoria Harris on April 1999 in Mobile, Ala. She was employed by the State of Alabama as a custodian for four years. She also served as a Daycare Teacher, Surpervisor, Bender's shipyard, housekeeping. She enjoyed cross knitting and drawing with her four great grands. She was proceded in death by her Mother Essie Jones and Father Harold Love. Sisters Flora L. Howard & Opal Seltyer. Stepfather Robert L. Henderson; Grandson Ziantonio L. Woods. Grandson Walter J. Lucky. Walter J. Woods; Sandra (Willied) Taylor. Ralph (Molly) Woods; 2 sisters: Mary (Thedore) Roberts; Callie (Lamont) Henderson; 1 brother Robert (Bertha) Love. 17 Grands; 17 great Grands; God sister Joe Anne Baptiste, Helen Weaver.
Visitation Friday, Aug. 31, 2012
2-6p.m.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. Cook-Richmond Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment-B.B. Moses Cemetery
