Mrs. Earnestine " Stine" (Jackson) Mark was born on January 12, 1923 with her twin brother, Earnest Jackson,Sr. in Hackley, La. She was one of twelve children born to the late Peter and Emma (abbott) Jackson. Earnestine departed this life on April 12, 2010 at the age of eighty-seven in Somerset, New Jersey.
She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Luther Walter Mark in 1940. To this union seven children were born; three sons, and four dautgters. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Earnestine (Jackson) Mark united with the Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E.D. Burns, later pastored by the Rev. Atwood J. Luter. She remained a member until her illness and moved to New Jersey with her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren, and her sister, Ruth (Jackson) Joyner.
Earnestine was one of twelve children. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Luther Walter Mark, Parents, Peter and Emma (Abbott) Jackson, Sisters, Velma Buckley, Ethel Baptist, Fannie Dantzler, and Mamie Taylor; Brothers, Wesley Jackson, Demmie Jackson, Charlie Jackson, Jewel Jackson, Twin brothers, Earnest Jackson, Sr. and Glimmie Jackson, Sr. First grand-son, Larry Gerard Dillon, and First great-grandson, Troy Brown-Johnson.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories; Daughters, Erma Gordon (Somerset, N.J.) Deloris "Kat" Stokes (Lynwood, CA.), Margaret (Rich) Brown (New Brunswick, N.J.) and Gweldolyn "Wanda" Mark (New Brunswick, N.J.); Sons, Holman "Homer" (Marian) Mark (New Brunswick, N.J.) Rosevelt Mark (New Brunswick, N.J.) and Phillip Mark, Sr. (Bogalusa, La.) one sister Ruth (Jackson) Joyner (Somerset, N.J.) two sisters-in-laws,Amie (Earnest) Jackson (Bogalusa, La.),Melvena (Glimmie) Jackson (Bogalusa, La.) fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
