On May 8, 1934 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Gladys Gillespie Preston and Warren Preston, Sr. were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Emma Lou Preston. She united with Bethlehem Baptist church at an early age where she remained until her death. She served in many capacities within the church. She attended and graduated from Central Memorial High School and then attended Dillard University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1956. She then continued her education by completing her Master's Degree at Southeastern Louisiana State University in 1971. She became a teacher and taught school for over 30 years and also became vice principal at Angie Junior High School until she retired. She united in holy matrimony with Leon Moses on Easter Sunday April 1962.
