Elvie Andrson Sampson, daughter of the late William and Ethel Marks Anderson, was born May 18, 1932 in Tylertown, Mississippi. She was united in marriage December 14, 1946 to the late Willie D. Sampson and from that union seven children were born. She was loving, caring, and devoted to her family and friends.
Some of us called her "Sweetheart," some of us called her "Callie," some of us called her "Aunt V," and some Aunt "Cooter Monk." She was loved by all her family. She was preceeded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Willie D. Sampson; two son, Willie Exzell Sampson and Dennis Ray Sampson; one sister, Ophelia Lowe; one brother, Silas Anderson and one niece, Betty Adams. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she served as an usher until her health failed her but she continued to serve as Usher Board Treasurer. She leaves to cherish precious memories of her one sister, Ella Rose (Richard) Lewis; two brothers, R.A. Bullock of Tylertown, Ms and O.C. Anderson of New Orleans, four daughters, Roda S. Brumfield of Jackson, Mississippi, Glenda (Lester) Williams of New Orleans, Gwynderlyn "Sam" (Richard) Smith of Bogalusa, Debra (Christopher) Mixon; and one son, Dennis Ray Sampson of Bogalusa; two adopted children, grandson William Dewayne Sampson and great granddaughter Jessica Anderson "Precious" Sampson; a host of nieces and nephews whom she helped raise; George (Reola) Adams, Jackie (Bessie) Mayfield of Texas; George (Angela) Anderson of Atlanta; Larry (Caroline) Anderson of Texas; Gloria (Roy) Forward of Texas; Dora (Lonnie) Runnels of Texas; Virginia (Andrew) Siger of Texas; Silas (Carolyn) Anderson of Texas; one daughter-in-law Linda Sampson of Atlanta, one sister-in-law Zada Mae Bullock of Sandy Hook, Ms.;.
