Earnest Edward Harry, Sr.

Earnest Edward Harry, Sr. of Angie, LA departed this life Saturday, September 17, 2016. He was a long-time resident of Angie, LA. He was born on August 13, 1941 to the late Jason and Lottie Harry.

He was a loving husband and an all around family man. He was a devoted father and grandfather.

On September 30, 1963, Earnest married the love of his life, Gladys Ramsey. From this union, four children was born. He and his loving wife also reared a special niece and his sister in law. After his retirement, Earnest enjoyed planting crops, tending his animals and spending quality time with his great grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Gladys; children: Earnest Harry, Jr. of Hattiesburg, Sylvia Harry, Kenneth Harry, Sr., and Cynthia (Charlie) Bullock all of Angie, and Mimi (Kenneth) Perkins-Magee of Hattiesburg; special sister-in-law, Jean (Billy) Smoot of Bogalusa; three sisters: Annie (Willie) Bishop and Emma Harry and Rosa White of Angie; three brothers: Leroy (Thelma) Harry (Benton, LA), Cleotha (Charlene) Harry of New Orleans, and William (Dorothy) Harry of Georgia. Ten grandchildren, one special grandson, Jonathan Spikes, Sr., whom he and his loving wife raised, Kenneth Claiborne, Jr., of Hammond, Rhonda Harry of Florida, Keneshia (Dustin) Sumrall of Varnado, Jamal Magee, Sr. of Hattiesburg, Normekia Bullock of Angie, Jayla Magee of Hattiesburg, Ja'Nayia Harry, Kenneth Harry, Jr., and Layla Harry all of Angie; nine great grandchildren; three special friends: Alvin McCant, Richard Foster and Bruce Banks and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jason and Lottie Harry, two brothers, Tillie Harry and Sylvester "Mose" Harry, Sr., and 3 sisters, Christine Magee, Rovella Martin and Laura Brown.

Visitation will be held at Wesley Ray United Methodist church, Angie, LA, Friday, September 23, 2016 from 12pm until 2:00pm. Funeral Service begin at 2:00 with Rev. Leslie McKinley officiating. Rev. Terrance August, Pastor. Interments, Jefferson Cemetery in Angie, LA.
