D'Shonda was born in Bogalusa, La. to the late Deborah A. Bickham-Martin and John (Trish) Magee of Bogalusa, La. on February 16, 1973. D'Shonda Chantelia Bickham departed this life on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Baton Rouge General Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. Shon attended Bogalusa High School she later joined Job Corps. in Dallas, Tx. And received her G.E.D., she furthered her education by graduating as a patient care technician.
She came up as a child attended the leadership of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under Doctor Tom Bailey and later moved her membership to True Light Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, La. Under Rev. Dennis R. Herbert as pastor where she gave her life over to God.There was no one she met that she didn't touch their lives. D'shonda had a long battle with kidney and heart diseases. She was a true soldier and she fought a great fight. She is survived by her three sons; Aaron (Omika) Bickham, Felton Bickham, and Dereon Bickham; A grandmother; Emma Lee Bickham, six sisters; KionTonya (Terrance) Bickham, Keavina (John) Robinson, Tamara Youngblood, Brittany Rayford, Sheila Spatley, and Mable Gilmore, three step-brother; Brandon Alexander, Micheal Alexander, and Ryan Alexander; Two grandchildren; Jace Bickham and Jiri Bickham; A very special friend Felton Magee; Two god-sisters Keely Mingo and Charlotte Thomas; Three special cousins Tony Bickham, Brandi Bickham, and Bridget Bickham. A special Aunt Patrice Belton who reared her as a child.
A special godfather Norman Brock; and three aunts D'ella Magee Alexander, Majorie Magee, Jean Sartin, six uncles Rev. Lorenzo (Velma) Magee, Bernelle (Mildred) Magee, Lenelle (Bernette) Magee, Fessie Westbrook, Aaron Barker, Gillis Bickham,, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah A. Bickham-Martin, her great-grandmother, Lillie Mae Lewis, grandmother, Fessie Westbrook Sr., Grandfather, L.E. Magee; uncles Bobby Westbrook and Louise Magee; her Aunt Linda Levi.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 31 from 12-2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Tom Bailey, Jr. officiating. Interment Bogalusa Cemetery.
