Dorothy Lee West the twelfth of fifteen children was born November 16, 1932 in Abilene , Texas to the parentage of the late Leroy Betters and Isabelle Moore Betters
Dorothy received her education in the public school system of Abilene, Texas
Dorothy met and married the late Jay West and to this god blessed them with four children, two girls and two boys, The oldest son Richard Wayne West of Los Angeles, Ca. preceded her in death.
Dorothy and her children lived in Arizona for eleven years and in 1965 moved to Los Angeles, California.
Dorothy was hard working person, She worked diligently for many long hours as domestic to provide for her family.

She leaves to Cherish her memories two daughters Joann Roberts and Betty Goodloe of Varnado, Louisiana and one son Jay W. West of Los Angeles, California a special young lady who was like a daughter, Marietta Roberts of Los Angeles, Ca.. Nine grandchildren, Kevin, Katina, Talia, Shannon, Andria, Ebony, Danielle, Chelsea, and Travon. Seventeen great grandchildren, Kyrra, Meshawnda, Devin, Alyanna, Jayvion, India, Tiarra, Jeremiah, Kelis, Clifton, Jamari, Rihanna, and Isiah. One great-great A. J. and a host of nieces, nephews, realtives and friends, with a special thanks to Lillian Roberts and Rosia Walls.
Visitation Friday, September 16 from 2-6p.m. at Cook-Richmond.
