Devora Foster was born on August 16, 1940, to the parentage of the late Deacon William T. Foster, Sr. and Sister Edna Mark Foster in Walthall County, Ms. She quietly and peacefully accepted her call to "Eternal Rest" with the Lord on January 16, 2012, at Lakeview Hospital of Covington, La.
Visitation will be Friday, January 25 at Cook-Richmond from 2-4p.m. Wake Service 6-8p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Varnado, La. Rev. Dr. A.S. Nelson, Officiating. Interment Robinson Cemetery.
Devora, who was affectionately and passionately, know as "Dee" attended elementary school at Jones Creek Elementary School in Varnado, La. She continued her education at Wesley Ray High School in Angie, La. where she received her high school diploma.
A few years after graduationg from high school she relocated to Los Angeles, Ca. There she employed at Hughes Aircraft in the Electronics Department. Being led by God and love her parents, in 1981 Devora returned home to Varnado, La. to take care of her ailing mother.
At an early age she united with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Varnado, La. under the leadership of the late Rev. B.B. Moses. After relocationg to Los Angeles, Ca. she united with the Greater Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Jessie Richards. After returning home to Varnado she reunited with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leader of the current pastor, Rev. Dr. A.S. Nelson, Sr. She was an active member of the Sunday School, the Senior Choir, and Hospitality (Food Committee). She enjoyed serving in the church and her community. She served faithfully unitl God called her home to eternal rest. She was loved and cherish by many in the Mt. Zion Church Family as well as the Varnado and Angie communites.
She was the mother of three children, the late Reginald Anthony Foster, Yolanda (Donald) Foster-Bradham, and Zella (Reverend Thaddeus) Daggs.
She leaves to cherish her memories tow daughters: Zella (Rev. Thaddeus) Daggs of Varnado, La. and Yolanda (Donald) Bradham of San Antonio, Tx.: seven grandchildren, Justin Foster, Jasmine Hardge, Jordon Hardge, Jessica Hardge, JaKyra Daggs, Michael Bradham, and Myisha Bradham; three great grandchildren, William T. (Ella) Foster, Jr. and Andrew (Frenchie) Foster both of Angie, La.; one aunt, Quida Fortenberry, a specail cousin, Freddie Frazier, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Reginald Anthony Foster, her parents, William T. Foster, Sr. & Edna Mark Foster, & one sister, Helen Jefferson.
