Obituary

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." -Psalm 23

Deryon Ke'trell Jackson, a handsome, fair-skinned smiling bundle of joy who almost immediately became known as "Red", was born on January 18, 2009, to Andrew Johnson, Sr. and Alisha Jackson in Bakersfield, California. "Red" was a very talented young lad in the Bogalusa City School System for all of his

educational years. He loved to draw, and as a result he was a part of the elite talented art class.

Academically, he stood with the high excellers and was known for scoring Mastery level in several of his school subjects. "Red" loved to play on his PlayStation with is brothers and friends, and he was an all-around athlete participating in many sports. As a member of the Bogalusa Timberjacks, he played quarterback, defensive back and safety. On the basketball team, Red played point guard.

Deryon was a brother's keeper; he loved protecting his little sister and brother; caring for them on a daily basis, and most of all he loved spoiling them. He let his two "Tasmanian Devils", Aubrey and Tank, do just about anything they wanted to do. He always left his door open for them to come in and watch TV with him and partake of his snacks. "Red" would walk to the bus stop daily to get his brother Tank and ensure his safety in getting home.

Precious memories of "Red" will forever linger in the hearts of those who love and cherish him, including: his parents, Alisha (Floyd) Owens, Sr. of Bogalusa, LA and Andrew Johnson, Sr. of Mt.
