Mr. Connie Ray Simon departed this life on August 8, 2023 at his home in Houston, Tx.
Connie Ray Simon, mostly known as "Ray" or "Turk" was born on January 30, 1957 to the Late John Lee Edward Webb & Julia Simon Allen in Allen in Angie, LA. He was raised in the Live Oak Community by Connie Sr. & Rosia Simon. During High School, he enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantry Soldier. After being Honorably Discharged, he returned home and graduated from Varnado High School in 1975. After graduating, he moved to Texas where, according to him, he discovered a winning team he could be proud of, The Dallas Cowboys. He established a lifelong career as a big truck driver
where he found his zeal for being on the road traveling to new destinations. Aside from trucking, he absolutely loved to make people smile & laugh everywhere he went. Many would describe him as "The Real King Of Comedy" or "The Ultimate Story- Teller"
Ray leaves to cherish his memory: Two sons, Frederick "Nate" Banks. Sr.(Houston, Tx) & Immanuel Simon (Dallas,Tx); Four daughters, Cheryl "Susie" Mathis (Houston, Tx) Conneisha Jones(Houston,Tx), Kimberly(Anthony) Simon-Moses(Slidell,LA) & Tora (Rev. Wallace) Pittman; his mother, Julia Simon Allen(Delavan,WI); Eight Sisters, Rossie Allen(Longview, TX,), Connie Miles (Houston,Tx.), Iris Lee(Burlington, WI), Shane "CC" Allen (Chicago, IL),
Lillian Shephard & Pat (Ray) Ellis both of Bellwood, IL, Darlene DeLaCruz (Killeen, Tx) & Constance Shephard (Wheaton, IL); Two brothers, Tillman "Anthony" Shephard & Johnny Shepard both of Maywood, IL. He loved 21 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends in every area code.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Connie Sr. & Rosia Simon, his Father; John Lee Edward Webb; his sons, Ronnie J. Simon, Sr. a grandson Jonathan Alexander and his brothers; Robert Earl Allen & Conret Allen
