Cloteal "Lil Bit" Mark Magee began her journey in life in Sandy Hook, Ms.,on May 21, 1924, Born the 3rd child to the union of Louis Mark and Annis Harry. Her father died when she was a baby, as a result, Cloteal spent the first few years of her life with her great grandparents, Rayford & Emily (Ploughman) Wilson. Her mother, Annis later met and married Frank Pounds who reared Cloteal alongside Annis and considered it a joy. He was the only father that she knew. Cloteal parents moved to Bogalusa where she was educated and eventually made it her home.
Cloteal' fellowship was solemnized with Mt. Zion Baptist Church while still a child and under the leadership of Rev. Watkins. After becoming an adult she met and married George W. Magee on August 23, 1941 and this union produced seven children. Lil Bit, as was affectionately known, was a devoted wife and mother. She was especially humbled when recognized as the WIKC (radio station) "Mother of the Year". One of her favorite things, as an adult, was to share stories of her childhood experiences such as BYPU at the church, growing up in Jew town, the fruit exchange and 4th Street etc. She was a "walking geneologist" whose memory could be compared to an elephant which was noted in her remembrance of everyone's birthdates as well as who everyone was related to.
